As of September 1, 2023, the retail deposits in the DGF member banks made up UAH 1,115.0 billion, which is UAH 5.2 billion more compared to August 1.
From the total amount of retail deposits as of the beginning of September 2023:
- national currency deposits equaled UAH 718.5 billion;
- foreign currency deposits summed up to UAH 396.5 billion.
On September 1, 2023, the share of sole proprietors’ funds in the structure of retail deposits was 3.1%. Their deposits totaled UAH 132.9 billion (11.9% of the total amount (from January 1, 2017, deposits of sole proprietors are covered by the DGF).
Recall that from April 13, 2022, when the Law of Ukraine ‘On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Ensuring Stability of the Household Deposit Guarantee Scheme’ entered into force, retail deposits in the DGF member banks are guaranteed in full for the period of martial law and three months following its termination or cancellation. Three months after the termination or cancellation of martial law, the guaranteed amount of reimbursement will be UAH 600,000.
For reference. All banks in Ukraine are members of the DGF. As of September 1, 2023, the register of the DGF members included 64 banks.
